Discover the world of Highland cattle and the people who love them.
Brigadoon Scottish Highland Ranch is a small, family owned operation, located just outside of Kiowa, Colorado, USA (Approximately 60 miles southeast of Denver, Colorado, USA).
Brigadoon Scottish Highland Ranch raises all natural Highland beef, grass fed and grain finished. We care for our cattle with total humanity. Our Highlands are never placed in a feedlot scenario. They graze on grass pastures, drink fresh well water, from automatic waterers.
We finish our Highlands on a blend of all natural, non-GMO, grain. Our cattle never receive steroids, antibiotic feed additives, growth hormones or animal by-products.
Highland cattle are slower growing than a commercial breed. This allows the animal time to develop flavor and tenderness. We harvest the animal at approximately two years old and process at a USDA packing plant, in Kersey, Colorado. Chemicals/water are never added to the meat.
The beef is dry aged for 28 days and then cryovac wrapped, for that extra value of freshness and storage time.
You may, also, see us showing our animals at a local livestock fair or the National Western Stock Show, in Denver, Colorado.
You may, also, see us marketing our all natural beef at a farmers market or even an antique fair. Brigadoon Scottish Highland Ranch markets their beef under the name of Sister Ranch Natural Beef. If you see us, I hope you will stop and talk to us about our passion for Highland Cattle.
